You make me feel good

So every season I've noticed a pattern within my thoughts on current fashion inspirations. Generally my inspirations stem from an epic babe (past or present) with a beauty so unachievable that I find myself avoiding mirrors and cameras. Lately I've been all nostalgic with Anna Karina and Chantal Goya; sticking to a monochromatic colour palette and making sure my buttons are done all the way up (I've even been learning French podcasts, impressive no?). However, this season it's all Jane Birkin and Janis Joplin. This is where American Gold's Spring/Summer 2011 lookbook becomes my new friend.
