Pendleton for Opening Ceremony

Personally, I could not ask for a better collaboration for my Aztec heart to indulge in. Opening Ceremony meets Pendleton for A/W 2011 and I predict they'll live happily on peyote for the coming season.

As a shallow, fashion conscious Gen Y-er, I find myself ashamedly admitting that the first thing I notice about people is their outerwear (I'm looking at you fedora-wearing ska listeners). Before you judge, try and tell yourself you don't do the same. Unless you're living in Nimbin and snacking on brownies it's just not feasible. So when I jumped on the Su-Shi website, I felt my face slowly turning an adolescent shade of crimson as I caught myself staring not at the items on offer, but at the model's breasts. Thank the Lord for these mountainous holy gifts on offer because they are going to abolish unrealistic ideals of a fashion model the world over. If any girl is reading this reaching for her packing tape (Christina Ricci in 'Now and Then'), DON'T DO IT! 

From this post forward, I vow never to tape my boobs down again (and yes, I still do it).

You make me feel good

So every season I've noticed a pattern within my thoughts on current fashion inspirations. Generally my inspirations stem from an epic babe (past or present) with a beauty so unachievable that I find myself avoiding mirrors and cameras. Lately I've been all nostalgic with Anna Karina and Chantal Goya; sticking to a monochromatic colour palette and making sure my buttons are done all the way up (I've even been learning French podcasts, impressive no?). However, this season it's all Jane Birkin and Janis Joplin. This is where American Gold's Spring/Summer 2011 lookbook becomes my new friend.

She's back

To the three of my friends who actually read this blog,
I'm sorry I haven't provided you with indulgent clothing porn for the past couple of months. After grappling with some personal issues, I've actually got a little bit of motivation (although not as much time) to have a go at this. So let me nurse your insecurities once again by posting too many photos of beautiful people draped in designs of the 21st century.

Wow. I didn't know I could love something with all my heart until I saw this line. LOOK AT IT! Tell me it isn't perfection. Black, red, mustard, sheer, underpants as outerwear. It's like Wonderwoman on an acid trip vomited up all of her emotions and turned it into a lookbook.
