Sunshine looms

My friend Winter has officially left me for dead. No really, watch me melt in the summertime only to come back to life at the start of Autumn. You may have detected that I am greeting the warmer months with a little bit of hostility, because well.... I am. It's not that I don't enjoy the sunshine and the freedom that lies within two month holidays, but quite frankly the summers of recent have been a vat full of empty promises.

The endless possibilities of road trips, festivals, beach days, picnics, romance, long hair and floral are all conjured up at the start of September only to be put on hold until the last week of summer. Well maybe I'm just bitter because my hair never cooperates during the summer months, and ends up destroying my enthusiasm. Even with all this hostility, I am still looking forward to all these promises I have made myself. So to get me in the mood, I've been staring at beautiful pictures all day.

A little mood music

I just want...

A perfect white shirt. That is all I have wanted for the past six months. Simple no? Not so much. Something about white shirts spell power, especially on a woman. I want to get me some power.

I love those redheads, man!

Wildfox Couture is an American vintage-inspired knitwear brand who have developed a cult following among celebrities and retailers worldwide. They specialise in printed tees, taking advantage of the need for unique essentials in a woman's wardrobe.

What I love most about the brand are their campaigns. They are always visually amazing, using imagery to match their vintage inspired clothing. The following images were used for their Spring 2009 campaign, and were inspired by the 1990s movie 'Dazed and Confused'.  The movie in itself is brilliant, and Wildfox did a great job in recreating scenes from the movie. For a better understanding, have a look at the video to go with the campaign at www.wildfoxcouture.com

Heroin?

The Stranglers -- Golden Brown

Brilliant. Definitely in my top ten songs of all time.

Grunge resurgence

Grunge has recently made a huge comeback in both SS09 and AW09/10 collections. I could be bias because I've been listening to a lot of Pearl Jam lately, but I am all for this trend. Maybe not as much as Alice Dellal, but through subtle variations I think it will be a trend that I'll gladly embrace this summer. Okay so technically we have just dismissed winter, but I think it is worth pointing out how well Australian label TV incorporated grunge into their AW collection.

Everybody has a number 1

Clemence Poesy is without a doubt my number one fashion muse (subject to change). She embodies everything about French style, without intimidating me with her (somewhat) achievable beauty. Actually I take that back, if you stare at her long enough you will probably see enough perfection to make up for everything ugly in the world.

A beginning

I'm starting a blog not to form a new pathway for my life, but more so to start archiving all of the brilliant things I see that are often forgotten about merely seconds after they are seen. I study fashion, I'm twenty and I don't have a five year plan.
